One of the more modern incarnations of the ancient Ak-47, this rifle is disputably more common than any other rifle in the world. It's popularity does not cease, despite it's unstable and underpowered cartridge. The AKM was replaced by the AK-74, partly for this reason, and as a result bore another progeny; the AKMR, rechambered to fire the 5.45mm Bloc ammunition. As a result, most AKM's found will be in the hands of civilian and militia units.
