This weapon was introduced in the early-80s as a replacement for the elderly .50 M2HB. The BRG is a heavy 15.5mm weaon which can only be used on a tripod (20 kg.) or vehicle mount. It is unique in that it has belt-feed from both the right and left side to allow selection of specific ammuniton types, plus a single-shot selector for use with special ammo.
