IVAN ROGOV class landing ship

Equipped with bow doors and a ramp leading to a vehicle cargo deck in forward
part of hull; with massive stern door providing access to a "floodable" docking
well to accomadate hovercraft transports. Massive superstructure incorporates a
helicopter hanger, with a steep ramp leading downward to landing pad for
helicopters on forward deck and doors leading aft to secong helicopter landing
deck on the stern. There are also hydraulically raised ramps leading from the
upper deck forward of the superstructure to both the bow doors and the rear
docking well. In theory, an IVAN ROGOV ship can carry an entire Naval Infantry
battalion, including tanks, APCs and trucks. NOTE: If rear docking well is used
instead for cargo, this ship can carry 50 MBTs or 80 APCs. Her ability to beach,
use helicopters and to deploy landing craft gives her a versatility unmatched by
any other landing vessel in the world, with an organic shore bombardment to
boot, making IVAN ROGOV a top-rated amphibious support ship.
