P-47 Thunderbolt

As with the P-51, the P-47 Thunderbolt reentered service when losses of
modern aircrafts was at it end. The P-47 was soon established as a
Groundattack aircraft providing airsupport to USA in Europe. Fitted with
unguided rockets it could strike against heavy Soviet tanks. But the
numbers of Thunderbolts reaching the European theather was to small to
make a major inpact on the war.
